This week’s POW is very original. It was taken by a fellow member of Pesca y Devolución, Gabriel Candussi while fishing the Río de Avalos in Cordoba.
Evidence of an effective lure. At least the grasshopper believes it. Let’s hope the trout do too.

Formula for estimating the weight of a fish:
square the girth of the fish and then multiply by its length and divide by 800.
(Example: Girth = 8 inches, Length = 14; thus (8x8)14/800 = 1.2 lbs)
The Pause
The pause is the most important part of a retrieve when stillwater fishing. When insects are rising in the water column in preparation for hatching, they will tire and pause momentarily. Trout will key in on this and dart in on paused insects.

Lord, give me grace to catch a fish
So big that even I
When talking of it afterward
May have no need to lie.

Last year I went fishing with Salvador Dali. He was using a dotted line. He caught every other fish.
